As the people open the large doors, they are amazed to find a large vessel has crashed landed through the building roof into the room and comes to rest atop the central altar area.

Amazed viewers look at this strange vessel.  Smoking, not completely destroyed, not horribly damaged to it, although there is damage to the interior of inner sanctuary it is not complete.  The vessel has a weird bluish haze around it ( which turns out to be the fail safe force field activated within the pod ).  The Blue Haze flutters, than goes out completely.

Amazing as this surreal event has occurred the onlookers than venture into the room, and try to get a better look at what has happened.  One onlooker looks away and up to see where the vehicle has come from.  He notes that there is a perfect diameter hole through the roof, and within other structural framing members of the ceiling, along the path of the vehicle, but not complete destruction of the structural members.  It looks as though the vehicle has sliced an area only to allow it alone to venture through the building, where it came to rest atop the marble and concrete altar.
Obviously now we realize, the pod still had a working deflector shield, which prevented it’s complete destruction and flight down from orbit, as well as, land somewhat intact.

The man who looks at the hole in the roof, than turn his head towards the pod, than we hear a loud noise from the pod..  A bright flash of light glows from the entire Pod which illuminates the entire room, emanating outward from the hole in the roof and through any glass pane of the windows at the exterior walls. After which the light goes immediately out.  A brief moment of Dark before all of a sudden we see the rear hatch door begin to open, and a glowing Silvery / Golden light emanate from the inner area of the Pod.

Again with a sudden shuddering noise and wining, the rear pod door opens fully.  With some debris falling off and behind the altar area, which the pod crashed into.  The light from within also fills the entire room with a light, not really ever seen before, as the on lookers to shocked to scream out, or even move.

Then we hear movement from within the pod.  We hear what seems to be a pattern of thumping steps, as if we know that someone or something is walking out from the pod toward us.  The sound is as if a muffled steel plate is struck against a perfect tiled floor.

Than “it” appears at the pod entry.  A figure, humanoid in overall form, but not human.  It has two eyes, which we clearly see, and note a silencing stare looking back at us from the head of this strange humanoid individual.  ( Zoom into the eyes – different, paralyzing, bewildering )

Than “it” speaks.   “ I am . . . . .” in a muffled tone.  “I am . . . . .” in a bit louder more confident sounding voice.
