The Borg – in some distant galaxy quadrant, know that their supreme rule of power is quickly coming to an end.
The Queen Borg herself, uses the greatest scientific minds within the collective, to try and discover a new way to combat the ever increasing and more powerful “enemy” at hand.
One Means Is to attempt to develop a new type of borg fighter drone.  Smarter, Stronger with altogether new powers and an even better method of attacking an enemy, as well as, to be able to convert almost any species into the Borg Collective better than before.
The Queen accepts a known risk to this, because this new type of Borg may even become more powerful than she, and won’t be able to stop it if it gets too strong in it’s abilities, however, due to the extreme circumstances that she now faces, she accepts the risk and makes the choice to proceed.
